The Way Directed by Emilio Estevez

The Way
The Way is a film about four people that walk the Camino De Santiago; all with different issues and walks of life. They went on this adventure to find themselves again and to heal. The Way is generally about finding yourself: whether it's quitting smoking, losing weight, or healing from the death of a loved one. All the characters go through something.  This whole adventure is about learning the things you didn't know before. They all found new areas to explore and experience in their own lives.

Tom Avery (Martin Sheen), the main character, is an eye doctor. Doreen (Renee Estevez) is his receptionist. One afternoon Tom was playing golf. Towards the end of the day, he got a call from a French policeman who said his son Daniel (Emilio Estevez) was killed in a freak storm just outside of France. While Tom is thinking about what to do next, he meets Joost (Yorick Van Wageningen); one of the people making the Camino De Santiago pilgrimage.  During the time that Tom is thinking about what to do, he remembers something he said to his son, "not everyone has the luxury to pick up everything and leave it all behind". So, right then and there, he decides to do the Camino De Santiago. Armed with his son's ashes and backpack he makes the trek, and Joost comes with him.  They split up and go their separate ways for a little while, then Tom finds a new friend from Canada, named Sara (Deborah Unger).  After they meet up with Joost again, they start going through hayfields and hills. Then they meet Jack (James Nesbitt), a writer from Ireland, so they all wind up going on this adventure along the Camino De Santiago.

Everyone thinks The Way is a father/son type film. Well, they're not wrong, but it's not the father/son they think. Martin Sheen is actually Spanish and this movie is dedicated to Martin Sheen's dad. Emilio Estevez was trying to make this film for his father and grandfather, which is why he chose the Camino De Santiago. A lot of the trail is in Spain and it has a lot of cultural significance to their family. Whether ware ever your from  there is always something interesting to find in this movie.

Maybe add a conclusion to your two excellently written body paragraphs. :-)
